San Francisco Bay Cruise Snapshots

The San Francisco Bay Cruise left from Fisherman's Wharf, followed the shore out to the Golden Gate Bridge and then returned past Alcatraz.

As we headed out to the Golden Gate Bridge the seagulls flew along with the boat.
The historic residences of Fort Mason.

Fort Mason was formerly used by the army as a location from which to defend the bay.

View of the San Francisco side of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Obligatory photos of the Golden Gate Bridge.

Golden Gate Bridge as we approach it, with yacht, from the other side, the San Francisco end, the Marin County end and so on.

The obligatory photo of Alcatraz.

After our trip to San Francisco in 1999 we had so many photos of Alcatraz taken from different viewpoints around the city.

The sea lions at Pier 39.

Their arrival just after the 1989 earthquake presented a major problem for city officials who had to spend a small fortune leasing back the mooring berths now occupied by the sea lions (or at least, so one version of history has it).
