Cockroach Wars

Confession. We are having problems with cockroaches.

About a month ago the number of droppings beneath our sink signalled an increased presence of visiting pests.

Excess Baggage

My ‘regular’ (that is, if both my friend and I are available) Saturday morning routine goes something like this:

  • Up at 6:30-6:40 to be out the door by 7:00
  • Meet my friend and walk for about hour
  • Finish with coffee and toast at a local cafe
  • Leave the cafe for my yoga class, which starts at 9:00

If Only They Could Talk

Sometimes things would be so much easier if the fur kids were human kids. For example, children would not be expected to stay in the States for at least six months and require blood tests to ensure that they have acquired enough rabies antibodies before they're allowed back in Australia. Melbourne Musings

Last week I spent four days in Melbourne on business and each night I ventured out to ‘forage’ for dinner. Eating alone gave me plenty of time to reflect on past times in Melbourne!

Your Attendance is Required

I was using our updated travel reservation system to book a business trip to Melbourne. Besides the itinerary and invoice, three meeting notices appeared in my Inbox.

The Trek

Modi Khola, Nepal

Last Wednesday I cautiously stepped along a narrow ridge keeping close to the steep, craggy slopes as I peered down into a chasm of raging waters. I traversed the mountain range in the torrential rain, sinking knee deep in clay and mud with every step.

Rumbles from My Morning Ramble

Walking with my friend this morning:

Me:

“You seem to be getting fitter. You're walking fast!”

K:

“Really? I thought you were walking fast.”

Me:

“I'm not talking much because I'm trying to keep up with you.”

K:

“I'm walking fast to try and keep up with you!”

We both agreed to slow down!
