The Olympic Games Snapshots

When we booked tickets for the Olympic Games we:

  • Planned our events so we would only need to take two days of leave
  • Chose the baseball and softball because it was close to home (about half an hour's travel)

Unfortunately, Melbourne is not close to Sydney. We had to take two weeks of leave and it was a three-hour trip out to the baseball and softball venues.

Tony's Column - Reflections on the Games

Tony wrote a column for Freeonline on our experiences of the Olympic Games in Sydney. This is the last post. We saw one more event, the Men's Handball medal matches the following night, and then returned to Melbourne.

Debbie's Journal - September 2000

It seems to be getting more and more difficult keeping this web siteup-to-date. We're back in Sydney for the Olympics and Tony has been busy sending back columns to Freeonline every 1-2 days.

Yarra Valley Snapshots

We spent a weekend at the Yarra Valley, staying at Langbrook Farm Cottage and visiting the local wineries. On the way home, we stopped at the Healesville Sanctuary.

Tony's Web Log - July 2000

I've taken the easy way out. I've decided that my contribution to this web-site will be in the form of a web log - that way I can make each entry as long or as short as time and inclination permits. (And I've been asked to do something similar for the site at work, so it's a good chance for me to practice.)

Debbie's Journal - July 2000

I really tried to be patient and wait for Tony to put up the next release, but there were too many photos to add and our hit rate has dropped. Therefore, drastic action is called for and I'm releasing another version tonight.

Actually, it is quite handy having these subjects already set up - all I need to do is fill in the blanks!

Debbie's Journal - June 2000

I never thought it would be so much work to keep this web site up-to-date (nor did I! - Tony). Every time I finish updating a section of the site, the creative juices flow and I end up updating something else.

Debbie's Journal - May 2000

Don't really have a lot to say for my first news letter. With the telephone it is so quick and easy to ring rather than write. But this is a good way for us to tell everyone what is happening - I can never be sure who I've told what.

Sydney to Melbourne Snapshots

Mum, Dad and I formed a convoy to move the last of Tony's and my possessions down to Melbourne. We took two days to travel from Sydney to Melbourne, stopping overnight at Holbrook. I think I've said this to practically everyone - the Autumn colours in the Southern Highlands of NSW and in North Eastern Victoria were spectacular.
